Alpentänzer Schuhplattler
of Sacramento, California is a non-profit organization dedicated to the
preservation of Bavarian and Austrian folk dances, costumes (tracht)
and culture. Organizations considering a German/Austrian event
(Oktoberfest, Maifest, other German theme event) may wish to consider
entertainment by the Alpentänzer Schuhplattler, who have been
exhibiting authentic Austrian and Bavarian dances for the past twenty
years throughout California and the Reno/Tahoe area. The group has
forty dancers and a live band (The Alpen Tanz Kapelle) which
accompanies the dancers. The
Alpentänzer Schuhplattler,
with their colorful and authentic costumes from Bavaria and Salzburg,
is the only German dance group north of Los Angeles that has its own
live band to accompany the dancers at the exhibitions. |
