This Romania Hora was originally taught by Sonia Dion and Cristian Florescu. at 2006 Statewide in Saratoga. It is a freestyle Hora that they did as a warm up to the Sunday workshop.
It can be done to any four count Hora music. They taught it to Hora on their CD#3
Formation
Hands joined in a W position in an open circle. Hands make small circles as you do the dance.
Dance
The dance is a freestyle Hora with three patterns done at the whim of the leader.
The dance can be done with either a lift or a touch. If doing the dance with a touch replace lift with touch in the discription.
Pattern 1 Basic Hora sideways with a lift on count four.
Facing center moving to right to start.
1. Step right to the right (count1), step left to the right (count 2), Step right to the right (count 3), lift left (count 4)
Facing center moving to the left.
2. Step left to the left (c1), step right to the left (c2), Step left to the left (c3) lift right (c4)
Pattern 2, Basic Hora in and out with a lift on count four.
Facing the center of the circle do one basic Hora step in.
1. step right forward (Count 1), Step left forward ( Count 2), Step right forward (count 3), lift left (count 4)
do one basic hora back
2. Step left Back (c 5), Step right Back (c6), Step left back (c7). lift right (c8)
Pattern 3, two, two-steps, plus Basic Hora sideways with a lift on count four
Facing right moving right do two two-steps followed by Basic Hora sideways right with lift on count four
1. Step right to the right (count1), step left together to the right foot right (count &), Step right to the right (count 2). step left to the right (count 3), step right together to the left foot right (count &), step left to the right (count 4), Step right to the right (count1), step left to the right (count 2), Step right to the right (count 3), lift left (count 4).
Facing right moving left do two two-steps followed by Basic Hora sideways left with lift on count four
2. Step left to the left (count 1), step right together to the left foot left (count &), step left to the left (count 4), Step right to the left (count 1), step left together to the left foot left (count &), step right to the left (count 4), Step left to the left (c1), step right to the left (c2), Step left to the left (c3) lift right (c4)
The dance is freestyle. Usually pattern 3 is done during the instrumental interludes and usually done moving from pattern 1 to pattern 3.
